Manuel J. Ong, MD ’79

Manuel J. Ong, MD
Nov 12, 1954 - Nov 3, 2017

It is with great sorrow that we (Class 79) announce the untimely passing of one of our most beloved classmates- Mannny Ong.

He was a son, brother, friend, classmate, physician, lover, husband, father, & grandfather. In his short but fruitful time, he touched numerous lives - his memory and legacy will not be forgotten. He was a practicing neonatologist/perinatologist in the Tampa, Florida area and directed the neonatology unit in his hospital until his demise.

Manny was married to our classmate, Annette Sanchez, MD. Together, they have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. They are generous donors to our charitable projects most notably the USTMD 79 GK Village in Bantayan Island, Cebu.

Please remember Manny Ong and his family in your prayers. Class 79 will miss Manny but we take comfort in knowing that he lived his life as a true Thomasian physician with competence, commitment, compassion, and dedication to his family, friends, patients, and most of all, to those in need.
